Prof Vaidya is famous for his solution of Einstein's equations for a radiating star. Much of his life was also spent in trying to make mathematics accessible to school children in a way that made it interesting rather than just rote learning. A news link is here. Thank you for the link. I had not seen this before on the news. I had the good fortune of sitting in his lectures on GTR in a school long years ago.
